    We had great stay with Chez Batista, everyone is friendly and we got a great setup for my son birthday as surprise from the staff

    Firstly, I would suggest hiring a car. This accommodation is quite a drive from the airport. Chez Batista is situated on a beautiful beach. it is open to the public, but thankfully it does not get too busy, lets hope it stays that way or it might destroy the peaceful setting. We stayed in the Beach view room, the front facing units all have stunning views. The shower was not fitted very well, as it leaks a lot of water on the floor in the bathroom. A bit of a design flaw. Daily Breakfast needs to be worked on by management & staff, it is boring & the same thing every day, not great if you are staying for a week or two. There could be a lot more effort made with the meals. the menu is also not up to a great standard, we skipped lunch, for dinners we decided to find restaurants elsewhere. It looked like the only real effort made in the restaurant was for the Sunday local cuisine buffet. There are giant tortoises on the premises, it is sad to see that the pen they are confined to, is terrible. Surely some funds could be used to give them better living conditions & also a shallow pond that is kept filled with water for them to access water easier. It is an attraction to all tourists, surely the hotel should do better for the animals sake. Enjoyed the snorkeling & swimming. I would suggest that the hotel, also consider having fins, snorkels, masks etc, available to hotel guests. If you want to snorkel, you need your own snorkel gear, as there is none available from the hotel. The WIFI was good, we managed to get some work done. There were spots around the hotel where it was intermittent. We had a great stay. Loved the location of the hotel. Those were just a few things to point out in hope that the hotel can makes some changes for the future. Thank you to the staff who were friendly & helpful throughout our stay.

    We stayed in Standard room, and the size as well as quality of the room was below average. There was no soap in the washroom even. The quality of toiletries was also poor quality. The staff was less friendly, and hotel did not accept our request to extend the checkout till afternoon claiming they have bookings, and forced us to pay for superior room for additional day, as they claimed all standard rooms were sold out. The superior room though was better in quality and size, but still missed the amenities. The only positive part of the property is their private beach and views of the beachfront.
