    Review: Camiguin Volcan Beach Eco Retreat and Dive Resort We stayed in Camiguin for 5 days and 4 nights, and we could barely believe how perfect this resort was until we arrived—the reviews were spot on! This place is easily a 10/10. The entire resort sits right on a cliff, first line to the beach, with a stunning eco-friendly design. Accommodation consists of private wooden cottages, each featuring a porch with a hammock, handcrafted wooden chairs, and a small table. Room & Amenities: * Comfort & Layout: The beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom area was spacious. Note: there is no physical door to the bathroom/shower area; it's designed as a hallway with a half-wall partition between the toilet and shower. * Water & Plumbing: The water pressure is on the weaker side, but the water is hot and pleasant all day (fun quirk: the taps are reversed—right is hot, left is cold!). * Storage & Extras: Minimalist, beautiful wooden design with wooden shelves, a hanging rack, and a safe. There is no mini-fridge or kettle/tea setup in the room, but the on-site bar operates most of the day for food and drinks (prices are slightly higher than in town, but very reasonable). Location & Grounds: * Prime Spot: Located just 2–3 km from the main strip, which is filled with restaurants, bars, grills, local shops, cafes, and gas stations. Since Camiguin is small (about 1.5 hours to loop the entire island by scooter), all major sights are very close. * Resort Grounds: Features a lush lawn with massive coconut trees and woven hammocks scattered throughout. Right along the water, there’s a beautiful wooden bench and a bamboo deck perfect for watching dreamlike sunsets or practicing yoga. * Services: They organize private island tours (on the pricier side, but convenient and professional) and offer professional diving services as their name suggests. Golden Tip for Hikers: If you plan to trek Mt. Hibok-Hibok, you must apply for a permit in advance on a weekday, as the local government offices only operate Monday through Thursday. We unfortunately missed out on the trek because we didn't know this—just another reason for us to come back soon! I highly recommend visiting Camiguin and staying at Volcan Beach Resort in particular. We will definitely be back!
