    I had the opportunity to stay in both the city view and the garden side rooms. CITY SIDE: I would recommend the city view building as the rooms are more hotel style. I had a great room at the top floor with sprawling view of Kathmandu and the hills in the background -- beautiful sight to wake up to and you could step out onto the balcony. GARDEN SIDE: The garden rooms are very spacious. But let me breakdown the difference: 1) Cost: Garden side is cheaper than city side. 2) Shower: not separated in garden room so expect to get the entire bathroom wet when you shower. 3) Hot water: not consistent. I've had to wash my face, brush my teeth, clean my hands only in cold water. 4) Sound: In the city room, you will hear the next room's plumbing going to work. In the garden room, you will hear people coming in & out of their rooms. Things that make the stay pleasant: 1) Hospitality is great. Staff are responsive, accommodating, and they do their work with a smile. 2) Cleanliness -- team works hard in maintaining and quick to respond to requests -- whether you need towels, hair dryer, water, etc.. 3) Forex rates are slightly higher than the airport's or in other money changers around Thamel. 4) Location is very near the main road and a great starting point if you want to go around Thamel area. 5) For a vegetarian like me, I found at least 5 vegetarian/vegan restaurants that are within 2-5 mins walking distance from the hotel.
