    Spacious , spotless rooms and bathrooms ensured a comfortable stay . The settings of the bygone colonial era were breath taking . The staff went beyond their call of duty to ensure that our stay was most comfortable. A fantastic stay and value for money Special mention of Mr Srilal Head Butler . He was too good

    Very pretty cottage on the top of the hill in Kandy, Sri Lanka. Once, a summer cottage for Lord Mountbatten and his wife, Edwina. Very classy European style. The manager and the staff are very curteous. The menu is all a la carte, can either be Sri Lankan food or Western. They pay attentiob to your needs well becauae it is small bungalow. It has its own herbal farm and you can purchase products such as black tea, herbal lotions, hand wash. The pool is looking over a forrest. So many prettt flowers. This would feel like your own little cottage. The interior is kept like in thr olden days. Though it can feel a little errie if you are a solo traveler, but over time you will get use to it. Be sure to write a note on their guest book. If bringing a driver and a car, they do have accommodation and food for the driver. Don't be surprised if you see little bugs in thr bathroom they could come from anywhere. Overall, great experience.

    Set high on the hill away from the chaos of Kandy, the accommodation is a historic high away in a stunning garden with pool. We were in the main house with huge room and bathroom with a bath. The staff were very attentive and your meal times are at your request.

    We can't really fault the Mountbatten. The staff were delightful. The highlight for us was the pool and views. The grounds are immaculate. This hotel was part of our 3 week tour and we stayed at a different hotel every 2 nights. I have marked value for money down a star just because it was at the top end of what we had been paying for accomodation and yes the cabins are nice but we didn't feel as good a value as other properties we stayed in, and the food was good but not exceptional.
