Jetwing Saman Villas is, in many ways, a true five-star resort — and it comes with the five-star price tag. The staff are genuinely exceptional: attentive, considerate, and always trying to help. We arrived late in the evening and check-in was smooth and quick. As we were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, we were also surprised with a celebratory cake and drink, which was a really thoughtful touch. The room was very spacious with stunning views, but the highlight of this resort is the beach. The beaches on both sides are spotless and feel endless — clean, pristine, soft golden sand with very few people around. It’s peaceful, unspoilt, and truly special. That said, there were a few disappointments that didn’t match the standard expected at this level. In our room there were some visible wear-and-tear issues (e.g., a chipped sink that looked like a rushed repair, a damaged rug, and a slightly damaged chair). The team kindly offered to move us, but by the time we raised it we were already well into our stay and moving would have been more inconvenient. Breakfast was also a let-down. It’s ordered from a menu (not a buffet), and the initially served portion sizes felt very limited — even though you can request more. For example, the “hash brown” was a single potato croquette, roughly 3 cm x 3 cm, which felt out of place for a five-star breakfast experience. The biggest issue, however, was transportation. The resort-linked tuk-tuk/taxi drivers at the gate were intimidating and charged extremely inflated prices. We also found ride-hailing (Grab/PickMe) repeatedly failed, and were told by other drivers they avoid pickups there due to fear of confrontation. We were followed/harassed when trying to arrange transport independently, and often had to walk away from the entrance to book a ride. This seriously impacted our ability to explore locally. In summary: incredible staff, beautiful location and beaches, but room maintenance, breakfast experience, and (especially) the transport situation need urgent attention.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jetwings Samanwilas. From the moment we arrived, to the time we departed, we were well looked after and cared for by the wonderful hotel staff. We traveled as a group of 10, with our elderly parents and grown up children. We had 5 rooms each with a stunning view of the Indian Ocean. The food was absolutely delicious and served with care, taking into account all our varied food requirements and restrictions. Rushan and Niroshan were assigned to our family as ‘butlers’ but were much more than that. By the end of our stay, they felt like members of our family. The resort itself is small, scenic, and very peaceful. I would love to go back!

Nice upmarket property - great location, rooms and lovely pool. Very peaceful. Def recommend for 3-4 days pure relaxation - but note there is not much to do in the area - we were also not a big fan of the outside bathroom as obvs occasional mosquitos! However its a lovely place!
