    I really enjoyed my stay at Villa Maydou and felt that it was really good value for money. The room was amazing and the garden with pool really beautiful. It is a bit further away from the historic centre, but the villa provides bicycles which make it convenient to get around.

    This is a beautiful site and provides a glimpse of colonial living in the heart of Luang Prabang. Easy to get into town by bike or taxi or walk if you fancy. There’s lots to love here however a few things would have made our stay more pleasant. We all felt a little dodgy after swimming and weren’t convinced on hygiene of the pool. The beds were extremely firm and pillows uncomfortable. Rooms smelt slightly musty and damp. The breakfast was mixed - the bread was not nice and the meat (sausage and bacon) were inedible. We mostly went for the Lao omelette which was tasty. Beautifully restored around 20 years ago but in need of a little tlc and refreshes in places!
