    The area around the hotel is a place that was for tourists and then mostly died. Most places around are closed but there's a bus stop, Chicken place and 7-11 nearby. The people at Pelicana chicken are very kind and friendly. Bus to the park and down to Sokcho is easy but be sure to load the Tmoney cart before you go up.

    Hotel with amazing quality/price ratio. Very convenient for a multy-day visit the Seoraksan Park. The 7 and 7-1 bus stop is very close. Hitchiking to the patk is also very easy. The brekfast was self-service and really good. The owners of the hotel were also very nice and very helpful! Highly recommended.

    If you like feeling like you are in a ghost town from the 80s this is the place! I booked it for the proximity to park and hoped by being nearby the entry we'd get up earlier and be there at the mountain. I booked the Korean room (futons on floor) and when we got off the bus and walked to the hotel I was at first surprised because it all looked abandoned. Seems this was once the only area people stayed for visits to National Park but now they stay in Sokcho and this area has suffered the loss. It was a fine night sleep with a good hot shower and quiet room. It will not be for everyone but I found there to be something nostalgic about the area and the room (dated but clean and simple) was fine for a nights rest. Great area to do some exploring at night, see stars, walk the new bridge and see its light show and feel like you are the only one on the mountain. Pelican chicken was where we had dinner and a beer with a friendly owner. The reality of slow decline that causes areas to suffer when new roads are built and people no longer choose to stay in the area that was once the only place for visitors to spend the night. I was happy to leave some small bit of revenue up here!
