I recently stayed for 5 nights in the Double Villa with Balcony at Rambutan Resort Siem Reap, and it was a wonderful experience. The room is uniquely and beautifully decorated, with a firm, comfortable bed on the ground level and a separate living space upstairs that was well worth the extra cost. Keep in mind that the staircase to the upper level is quite steep, so guests with mobility issues may find the layout challenging. The walk-in bathroom features a great rain shower, premium soaps and lotions, and thoughtful eco-friendly touches like refillable glass water bottles. The pottery vase dispensers for toiletries are a charming local touch, even if you have to be a little careful handling them in the shower. Other appreciated room amenities included a safe, a personal umbrella, a pay-for-use minibar stocked with local beers and soft drinks, and strong, reliable Wi-Fi. The service here is top-tier. Housekeeping provided daily turndown service and consistently replenished the water bottles. Breakfast each morning was made to order, offering a great mix of Asian and Western options accompanied by warm baguettes and toast. All of the staff members were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I booked a single-day tour of Angkor Wat directly through the hotel, and I highly recommend asking for Mr. Sokhorn as your guide. His English is excellent, he is a wealth of knowledge, and he made the entire day a genuine pleasure. For transportation, the hotel offers pickup service from Siem Reap Angkor International Airport. While $40 USD is a bit pricey, the airport is about an hour away, and arriving late at night made having a driver waiting for me well worth the peace of mind. For my return to the airport, I took the official Siem Reap Airport Bus from 7 Makara Road, which is only an 8-minute walk from the resort. Tickets are $8 USD one way, and the service is very dependable and runs on a reliable schedule since many airport employees use it. Overall, Rambutan Resort deserves very high marks. The combination of unique design, fantastic staff, and comfortable amenities will easily make this my hotel of choice on my next visit to Siem Reap.

We loved our stay - the staff was amazing, the food and drinks were great and the pool…we loved the pool! It’s close to Pub Street and the night market, but feels removed when you want to enjoy some peace. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

I would not stay anywhere else in Siem Reap. This place feels like a true hidden gem. Located about 2 minutes walk from the very centre of town, markets, river, pub st. Yet still feels so quiet and peaceful. The pool, restaurant and bar are great. But most of all the staff are amazing. Their english is great, they are so friendly and helpful. You will not want to leave the resort.

We have stayed at Rambutan Resort five or six times over the years and came back this time with our family because we have always enjoyed it. Unfortunately, our latest experience was disappointing. On arrival, we were told we had been upgraded, but the room was clearly smaller than the one we had booked. We had expected one of the two-story rooms near the pool, but instead were moved to a smaller room in the main area. When we asked about the other rooms, we were told we could move, but the area was dusty and clearly not being used. I wish the management had simply been honest and explained that the other side of the resort was closed rather than calling it an upgrade. The local staff were excellent and tried very hard to help, but our concerns were dismissed by the foreign manager. It is a shame because Rambutan used to be one of our favourite places to stay, but after this experience, we will not be returning.
