    I stayed in the Japanese twin room on my lonesome and it was a nice change to some of the smaller places I’ve been staying- the room is massive for Japan. Was very quiet, I didn’t hear other travellers at all. The futon was so comfortable I found it hard to get out of bed and catch my train on the day I left- I even considered asking if I can just stay another night haha. The place has an immaculate vibe, very chill. Bathrooms are clean. Towels could be larger- I think that might be a Japan thing tho. Where the big towels at Japan? If you stay upstairs it can be a bit frustrating to go downstairs to go to the shower or toilet but it’s not a big deal. The two ladies that manage the hostel and bar are two of the friendliest people I’ve met on my travels and gave me so much advice on other cool places to check out in Otaru. I also recommend having a couple of beers at the bar. I guess the walk up hill to the station might be difficult if you have luggage but there are plenty of taxis in Otaru and it’s like 1km away so can’t imagine the taxi being expensive. Clean, comfy, and vibey. Felt like staying with some cool friends. I look forward to coming back one day.

    The host is super nice and the room is in vintage style. The room is very clean and quiet. The common area is very spacious and welcoming. The location is 10min walk from Otaru JR station and near to the Otaru Canal. Highly recommended.

    Stayed during the Otaru Snow Light Path Festival. Had a great time, nice private room although very basic could use a little more decor. The craft beer bar was good, but we only had a few drinks there early one evening as we were unaware it would be closed on one of the nights we were staying, so didn't get to use it anywhere near as much as I would have liked. We did have a fantastic time instead at the Otaru Beer Brauhaus and a few other bars around town. Also, they let us store our bags in the common area before check-in.

    In my personal opinion, Although it was only 2 night, the experience was good. The location just a 15 min walk from the train station and 5 min walk to the otaru canal river. I would rate my stay 3 out of 5
