    Stayed a night and it was very comfortable. Tried gender-segregated onsen which is also pretty good. However, location is a bit of a bus ride from Beppu Station but it is only a 2 min walk to the nearest bus stop.

    A 20min walk brings you to the Kannawa onsen area of Beppu where there are a number of good dinner options available. This hotel seems to be a popular destination for Korean bus tours, so not a very "traditionally japanese" hotel destination compared to others nearby, however, the bath was pleasant and the room exceptionally clean and comfortable, and the front desk staff very polite. Buffet breakfast include elements of Western, Japanese, and Korean flavors, though was quite busy with a couple of busloads of Korean tourists shortly after the 7am opening time.

    The main attraction of the hotel is that there is a mixed gender outdoor onsen. There are also indoor/outdoor onsen separated by gender. The Beppu hells are within a walkable distance. There are washing machines and driers on the ground floor. A convenience store is located opposite of the hotel. The free shuttle bus service was great during check-in check-out. The staff there were really friendly, they gave great recommendations on restaurants and were very polite.

    Just a regular Business Hotel. 30 mins out of centre. Hence courtesy car but arranged forgot to collect us until we rang after waiting half hour. Facilities dire. A kettle and cups but no tea or coffee. Instructed to go down to lobby coffee machine! A large restaurant but not for the hotel guests. Half full with an outside group dinner booking. Sent off to look for an eatery in an unfamiliar location in pitch black road with no street lighting or proper footpath down hill to a four lane highway. There we saw lights in the distance and ate a basic tasty meal just in time before they restaurant closed. Then walked back. A passing police car eyed us suspiciously and returned for a second look. We were desperate as thrre was a shortage of accommodation and agreed to pay $1500. Thinking a resort would offer more than the basics. Breakfast -was an extra charge. Manager did give us some coffee sachets when we got back and apologised in the morning. It's a bitter experience.
