    The Okhotsk Palace hotel is a real gem of a place in the far north! Its right beside the bus station, so if you have a late night arrival or early trip back, there will be no rush to get ready and make it on time. The location also provides access to good food choices and a nearby 7-11. The staff was also very accomodating and helpful. Highly rated, would book again.

    Agoda didn’t mention the room is smoking or non-smoking room. When I check in, the front desk told me non-smoking single room were all occupied but other types of non-smoking room are still available and need to add 1100 yen per day. When I entered the room, it is still a single room and 2200 yen are charged upon check out. The comforter is very old and stain was found which is very disgusting. The air-conditioner is bad, it still heating up the room even the target temperature is attained. Only can open the window to adjust the room temperature. Restaurant only serve dinner during weekend, on Friday to Sunday, which is not acceptable as the surrounding is not a business or tourism area, not many choice of food are available. Breakfast is also not so good, some of the food are cold. The only 2 good things are the hotel is very near the bus terminal and one of the restaurant staff can communicate in English.

    The hotel looks quite modern on the outside , as it’s one of the few hotels available in the small town. Few mins drive to closest grocery, no convenience store nearby . Quiet location and ample car parking . We have booked seaside room so waking up to the view is relaxing . Room itself is very aged , sheets are broken and bed is uncomfortable. They offer various types of pillows to choose from. Decent yakiniku restaurants on the next block.
