Daiwa Roynet Hotel Chiba Ekimae

Very close to the station and easy to find. There are 3 konbini near the hotel and it’s just make it perfect.

We stayed at the Daiwa Roynet Hotel Chiba Ekimae for 11 nights (July 3–14) for a 5-day event at Chiba Port Arena. Choosing Chiba Station over hotels right by the venue was the best decision—the endless restaurant options and shopping around the station made a huge difference! Money & Currency Exchange Tip Best Rates Locally: The Chiba Bank LTD is located directly across the street from the hotel and offered the best currency exchange rates we found. We recommend exchanging the bulk of your cash there, with 7-Eleven ATMs as a great second choice. Avoid changing money at the airport unless you just need a small amount to cover transit until you reach the hotel. Room & Comfort Clean & Spacious: Our room was clean and noticeably larger than the typical Japanese business hotel. The air conditioner and room air filter worked great too. Bedding: The bed was comfortable. The pillow was a bit flat for my preference—if you like firm/fluffy pillows, I'd recommend asking the front desk for an extra one early on, though it wasn't a major issue for us. Transit & Logistics From/To Narita Airport (T1): On arrival we missed the last 8:44 PM Narita Express (N'EX), so we took the JR Sobu Rapid instead (45 mins, 9 stops, 715 yen). On the way back to Narita T1, we took the N'EX (30 mins, ~2,000 yen). Both are super easy. Hotel to Chiba Port Arena: Took the Chiba Urban Monorail 1 stop to Shiyakusho-mae Station + a flat 10–12 min walk. On competition day, we hailed a taxi via Uber (~2,200 yen). Tip: Uber easily accepted cash, whereas Go Taxi required a credit card registered in the app. Hotel & Amenities 24/7 Essentials: A 24-hour 7-Eleven and FamilyMart are right next door on either side of the hotel for a quick meal, snacks, drinks and some necessities. Laundry (10th Floor): 3 washer/dryer combos (~600 yen for a 2-hr wash/dry cycle). The washer/dryer units have built-in 4-digit PIN to lock the door. Note: Staff will clear finished loads if left too long and hold them at the front desk. Elevator Note: Elevators automatically stop at the 2nd-floor lobby on every trip for security. Not a big deal but I always stepped out on 2nd thinking we were at street level Lol Staff: Warm, polite, and extremely helpful throughout our long stay! Highly recommended for anyone attending events at the arena or looking for a convenient base in Chiba.
