    Nestled in the midst to the Moritusbetsu forest. We sighted plenty of wildlife including owls, foxes, raccoon dogs and deer. And an amazing variety of bird species. Fortunately no bears! The outdoor onsen was really nice too. Not to mention the above average breakfast/ dinner and excellent service!

    my idea of the perfect onsen ryokan. secluded in a beautiful forrest yet easy to access. amazing onsen with proper cold plunge, sauna, indoor and outdoor bath set amidst giant volcanic bolders and trees. dining room has large arching wall of windows onto the beautiful forrest and food and service were excellent. large enough to have all the amenities but not so large as to host bus tour groups. one of my favorite stays in my many trips all over japan.

    This was extremely pleasant surprise. Very well maintained and cozy onsen hotel if you are nearby and traveling this region. Highly recommended.

    Not A recommendation... the hotel located at the middle of the forrest, far away from any attraction or the lake It is old and the atmosphere is accordingly, The room was full of bugs, And the hotel stuff closed the common area at 21:00, an hour and A half before the described times. The onsen was good though
