    Our family stayed at Hotel Ashoka in Rameswaram after arriving early by train. Since we reached around 9:40 AM, we requested an early check-in. The staff informed us that we would need to check out at the same time the following day, and we agreed without any issue. However, at exactly 9:40 AM the next morning, the staff repeatedly banged on our door, pressuring us to check out immediately. I called the reception and politely requested just 30 more minutes so my family could freshen up before leaving. Unfortunately, the receptionist was quite impolite and abruptly said that even a few extra minutes would require paying ₹3,000 for an extension. As a result, we had to vacate immediately and book another room elsewhere just to get ready before continuing our journey. This review is not intended to discourage anyone from staying here, but to highlight an experience that I believe could be handled much better. Travelers often face unpredictable schedules, especially when arriving or departing by train. While I completely understand that hotels have check-in and check-out policies, a little flexibility, empathy, and polite communication can make a significant difference. I have stayed at many hotels over the years and have never experienced such an unfriendly approach. Hospitality is not just about following rules—it’s also about treating guests with courtesy and respect. A simple, polite conversation would have made our vacation end on a much more positive note.
