    I was celebrating my Dad's birthday. Generally we go on long drive, but given the overlap with Durga Puja we thought of some place nearby to Calcutta. Taj Ganga Kutir popped up in our head. We wanted to try their Jacuzzi duplex room, a friend of mine had earlier suggested. The price of the room was eye popping, but we went ahead and booked anyway given the trust in Taj. And I have to say, we were all thoroughly thrilled and left amazed by the experience. Tha place itself looks amazing, I dont think I have seen such spotless and exquisite interiors (rooms, hallways, restaurants, everywhere!) at any place else. What makes the experience even better are the amazing folks at the property, who thoroughly take care of you and leave no room for complains. We asked them to show us how the Jacuzzi worked, at 12am at night (we were very exhausted before that) and surely their was someone who came to our room and showed us how it worked. The food is amazing, the Ganga aarti was magical, and the landscaping throughout the property is marvellous. I dont have a thing to complain about. One note - there are multiple play areas inside the property. Initially we went to the main one, and it was filled up. But then we went to the one near Machan (their Global cuisine restaurant) and found it to be empty. Bonus, it overlooks the river! Yes the prices could have been lower and would have made this even sweeter, but for an overnight stay this was really something magical!

    Taj Ganga Kutir is a lovely place to pause. The Ganga views, lush greenery and quiet beauty of the property made this one of my most calming trips in a long time. The people made it exceptional. Restaurant managers Rahul and Sushanta understood our preferences and took great care to customise the experience. Their warmth and attention gave the stay an almost ethereal ease. Ananya, Deblina, Chandni and Aheli at reception were gracious throughout; Vanshika looked after us beautifully at the table, and Dishani’s tea with lemon and turmeric was a thoughtful touch. My thanks also to Arpan, and to the many others in the restaurant and room service whose names I did not catch. Every interaction reflected the same generous hospitality. A serene property with a wonderful team. I would gladly return.

    Need to seriously work on the inter-hotel transport system. As a couple it was extremely disheartening to visit the place. Clearly a better place to visit with a family than for a quiet retreat. The group vacationers are freely allowed to flout norms and disrespect other fellow residents of the hotel. The staff is completely unequipped and untrained to deal with the crowds. Add to it misinformation about timings when reached out to. The property holds a lot of promise but is let down by the surprisingly disappointing management by Taj. Does not hold a candle to the standards one would expect of a Taj and the price charged for it. Extremely disappointed with the way it is managed. The worst part was lack of accountability by everyone at the property. , everyone passing the buck to every other department

    Pricy and not really good value. Have to eat all meals in the hotel, since it's a little isolated. Pricy food.
