My recent stay at Clarks Inn Grand in Gorakhpur was a bit of a mixed experience. While there were certainly aspects to appreciate, a significant issue with dampness in the room due to the recent rains put a bit of a damper on things – quite literally! Let's start with the positives. The hotel's location is quite convenient, making it easy to access local attractions and transportation. The staff were generally courteous and helpful, always ready with a smile and willing to assist with any requests. I found the common areas and the restaurant to be clean and well-maintained, and the food quality at the hotel's restaurant was commendably good, offering a nice variety of dishes. The decor throughout the hotel is modern and appealing, contributing to a pleasant ambiance. However, the major drawback during my stay was the pervasive moisture and damp smell (सीलन) in my room. It was quite evident that the recent heavy rains had led to this issue. The air felt heavy, and there was a distinct musty odor, which made the room less comfortable than it should have been. This is an area where the hotel really needs to focus its attention, especially during the monsoon season. Overall, Clarks Inn Grand has a lot going for it – good service, tasty food, and a nice atmosphere. But until the issue of dampness during the rainy season is addressed, it's hard to give it a full recommendation. If you're planning a stay during drier months, you're likely to have a much more enjoyable experience.
