    Singer109 ticks the boxes you need it to — decent setup, good kitchen, friendly crowd in the dorms. There's a large central atrium running through the middle of the place and it gives it a vibe that's genuinely hard to find elsewhere. It just works. Fair warning: the rooms are a bit cramped and there are no bunk curtains — whether that bothers you or not is pretty personal, but it's worth knowing going in. The bunks creak too, which others have flagged and I can confirm — so if you're a light sleeper, this may be an issue. Location is great. You're a decent walk from Alexanderplatz and the main tourist bits, or a quick U-Bahn if your legs aren't feeling it. The East Side Gallery is basically on your doorstep, which is a nice bonus if you haven't been. While you're in the area, do yourself a favour and head to Holzmarkt 25 — right on the Spree, great drinks, good food, proper Berlin atmosphere. Don't skip it. Good stay overall. The atrium alone makes it worth a look. Good to know: no bunk curtains, creaky bunks — light sleepers take note. And get yourself to Holzmarkt 25 while you're at it.

    Since we arrived, our shower was broken, falling from the wall. We asked several times, they didn’t even come to check. As well as the water, it was either freezing cold, or burning hot, they also didn’t check that after I asked. Be prepared if you go in summer, there’s no AC in the room. You can hear everything from the hall outside the room, people made so much noise. There’s no blackout curtains, so room was super bright in the morning. All this is for the Apartment (Private Room), don’t know about the Capsules. After this I wouldn’t dare to stay in one.
