Ji Hotel Beijing South Station

I stayed at Ji Hotel on May 24th for one night, and unfortunately, the experience at check-in was quite disappointing. When we arrived, the two male receptionists were unprofessional and made us feel unwelcome. One of them, who appeared to be more senior, muttered, “这是黄牛单吗” (“Is this a scalper booking?”). As a native Chinese speaker, I understood immediately and asked him what he meant and whether there was an issue with our booking. He avoided eye contact and replied “nothing,” without offering any explanation. This behavior felt rude and dismissive, leaving a very bad first impression. Additionally, the hotel entrance only has stairs and no ramp, which makes it inconvenient and unfriendly for guests with large luggage. When we were checking out, we struggled with our bags, and only one staff member—the helpful female receptionist—offered assistance. She noticed us trying to carry the heavy luggage down the stairs and kindly offered help. Her thoughtfulness is the only reason I’m giving two stars instead of one. Overall, the front desk service—especially from the male receptionists—was extremely poor. I hope the hotel improves both their customer service and accessibility for future guests.
