    This charming hutong home stay was a great base for my stay in Beijing. Right around the corner from a 24 hour convenience store and the Guloudajie train station, it was very easy to get around Beijing! The staff were friendly and I would be happy to stay here again!

    The place is a little difficult to find, so make sure you are in contact with the desk before you arrive. But it's not far from all of the stuff around the Drum Tower and an easy walk to the subway. The room is clean and spacious. The staff is very nice.

    I see Puremind as more of a guesthouse than a hotel to be honest. It's a family run business where they really care about their customers. Their English language is limited so they go out of their way to make up for this in other ways. My WeChat account had expired and I was unable to set up a new one due to my foreign sim card being unable to receive text messages so I relied on the staff's help quite a bit especially on day 1 of my visit. I needed a taxi, they ordered it for me. Ok, no big deal. I wanted to use the subway, they walked me to the subway entrance the first time so I knew exactly where it was. I told them my hobby was billiards and they found me a pool hall within 600m where I spent a great few hours. Location: Perfect for me as I was only there for 3 days and wanted to be near the Forbidden City and Houhai lakes. The taxi to Forbidden City/Tianneman Sq cost 30RMB and it only took me an hour to walk back. The lakes are a 20 minute stroll away and it's a pleasant safe walk at either 7am or 11pm. Room: Cosy with a great shower. Powerful and hot! If it's your first time in Beijing, walking down the narrow hutong could be a shock the first time but once you enter their door, it has a very homely feel. After booking with Agoda, communication was great. As a taxi can't get all the way down to the hutong, they provide all appropriate instructions for you and your taxi driver. And they will be there to meet you on your arrival. Book this place. It's an absolute bargain.

    We had a great stay! The place was very clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and it really felt like home. Definitely good value for money. Would stay again.
