    The owner Mr Yang was friendly. He emailed me when I booked the room to assure us which was valuable. The location was great beside the main road with many restaurants and walking distance to the Lijiang ancient town. But there were steep staircase to climb to reach the hotel.

    The hotel is very good for those who can't speak Chinese as the staff can communicate in English and are helpful. Special thanks to Lei Zhe 雷哲 and Yang Lei for helping with carrying our luggage up the stairs. We gave 4 stars for location because we find it a bit tough to go up the steep steps to the hotel from the main road. I think it's not a problem for the younger tourists. The hotel is in the ancient town and hence you can visit many of the sites recommended for tourists. We especially like the feel of staying in a friend's house.

    Great location and within walking distance to the ancient town (古镇). The owner is very kind and friendly, and every morning he prepared breakfast for us, which made the stay feel extra warm and welcoming. He also met us at the entrance and helped carry our luggage, which was very thoughtful and appreciated. I really liked the room ambience — it has a beautiful traditional Chinese feel that made the experience even more special. Overall, it was a comfortable and memorable stay. Highly recommended!

    The star rating on Agoda is misleading; this is more like a 2 or 2.5 star property. It is an older, rustic building that appears much nicer in the photos. There is a steep slope coming up from the main road to the hotel. Soundproofing was lacking as you could hear street noise, neighbours and people using the wooden stairs outside your room. No heater in the room but they do provide heating pads atop the mattresses. Breakfast was very simple and served in the lounge area.
