    The lane leading inwards towards the hotel has signs of establishments within but we couldn't find "Shanghai Former French.....", turned out the hotel is also named Soho Arts and some other names, so you are not able to find the hotel name on *** or on *** when you book an airport transfer. The hotel is very cute, old building built in the 50s (according to staff), very atmospheric. The room is basic but they stocked it with snacks and drinks (foc) to welcome you. It's walking distance to Wukang Road and the famous Harry Potter Cafe is just round the corner, so great location. Very vibrant hood but the hotel itself is in a very quiet spot.

    nice and calm area, a little hard to find, rooms are clean but a little dated. But would stay there again . Good value for shanghai

    I was seduced by the old building charm... but frankly it's really not an acceptable hotel. The room had two quite odd window, it felt like a blind room. Wallpaper is worn out quite a lot, not just old, old and dirty. The breakfast is really bad, white industrial bread with bad jam... even the Chinese options with just 3 possibilities is not great. I went in winter, one evening my heater did not function. Staff came to the room, told me yes it works (no, it doesn't). I regretted not taking an international chain... Really not worth.
