    We stayed at the JW Marriott in Hangzhou for 2 nights. From the first impression walking into the lobby, it seems pretty impressive with high ceilings and large chandeliers. However, the room was not up to par by the JW standards. It was outdated, and there were mold around the bottom of the faucet sink handle. The room itself can be billed just your regular Marriott or Courtyard standard room. It was nothing special. In our opinion, the hotel should not be denoted as JW unless they truly renovated to the JW standards. It would have been better if we had a room with a better view other than looking out to a bunch of old buildings below. Although the front desk staff was polite, some servers behind the food bar in the breakfast room were not so polite. Perhaps it was a language barrier, but we didn't get a warm reception. The breakfast buffet had many selections, however, it was just OK. We tried the Man Ho Chinese restaurant, and it was good and reasonably priced. And we had great service. The hotel was not too far from West Lake, but it would be quite a walk so we took a Didi instead. If you are looking for JW Marriott standards, this hotel does not live up to its name.
