I booked a Bund view room in Aug and the hotel Receptionist was kind enough to allocate an amazing view of The Bund which was part of the reason i booked this hotel! 😊 It was a discovery to know that the booking comes with a complimentary photography which comes with styling, clothing (Shanghai style) & make-up for a few shots nearby the hotel. I really want to credit the outstanding Photography Studio, Freya, which has their studio at the basement of the hotel for this amazing experience! In particular their photographer, Asher as well as their coordinator cum make-up artist, 柚子! 😊 They made the whole process interactive, engaging, fun, professional and made this an unforgettable hotel stay unlike any I have stayed before, so well done! 🥰 Because of the photography session around the hotel, I discovered the many facets & places of this hotel I might not explore if I had just stayed there. For instance, the hotel have a quiet high-tea area at the back of the lobby with tranquil waterfall and green garden insight. The tea house has an elegant vibe even for their tasting table outside the tea-house with the Chinese tea-set, mini bosai & other plants to accentuate the Chinese-tea vibe. At the rooftop (which is free accessible for in-house guest), you get a panoramic view of both sides of the beautiful bund river. Outside the lobby, there is some heritage buildings against which my Shanghai-style photo fits well! At the side of the hotel, there is a metal bridge that runs at the tail end of the old Waitan/bund, which is cool for photoshoots too. The high lobby ceiling gives a vibrant, airy and grand feel so in all the hotel is special just by itself & its surroundings! 😊 The hotel breakfast was costly in my opinion comparative to other hotels so I tried the various blogger’s recommendation to order take-away to be delivered to the hotel room. It was another discovery to know that the various robots at the hotel is smart enough to deliver it to my room with activated calls to my room to inform me to pick up my meal rather than doorbell. So high-tech and yet so cute with the robot’s smiley face! 😊 The hotel Concierge was another impressive & integral part of this hotel! Other than recommendations for take-away food & how to order online, they helped in other areas too. For eg. I couldn’t register my Museum ticket due to the China’s restriction of foreign mobile phone numbers. The hotel Concierge manager/supervisor, Mr. Tyrone was so helpful that he helped me with the registration and got it settled so quickly and patiently that I was so grateful of because this Museum visit was so important for this trip! I have never seen a Concierge team so highly efficient, fast, capable, knowledgeable, yet still having a great team spirit amongst themselves, so really impressive indeed! 😊 I love my room’s bathtub but it does not have a door so just be conscious if one is travelling with a friend! The amenities inside is great so is the space. In all, a wonderful stay if you are willing to spend more on your room but the service & place will melt your heart!

We loved the views from the 33rd floor. It’s probably the best view of the Tower and the Bund! The hotel is spacious and has great staff although it takes awhile to get understood in English. Love the swimming pool. Unfortunately it isn’t as convenient for food options but otherwise it’s a great location to explore the north bund.

Don’t recommend this hotel if you are booking the base room. This hotel is old and dated and unlike what is shown in the pictures. The hotel is facing some renovation opposite and their only solution is providing you with earplugs. The service is bad as well for such a reputable brand.
