Winston Apartments

Absolutely one of the worst places I've ever stayed. I honestly have no idea how this place has so many positive reviews. The apartment was filthy from the moment we walked in. The carpets were dirty, the bed sheets were stained, the pillowcases were yellow, and the pillows were dirty and looked like they hadn't been replaced in years. The headboard was covered in dust. It was obvious that the room had not been properly cleaned before our arrival. The towels were just as bad. We were only given two towels for the entire stay, and they were already turning yellow. There wasn't even a bathroom floor mat. The pots and pans were so greasy that we had to wash everything before we could use them. That's completely unacceptable. The shower head was broken. The kitchen sink faucet leaked constantly, flooding the carpet every time we used it. The central heater didn't work, so the apartment was freezing. We were expected to sleep in a cold room with no heating. There was no Wi-Fi on the first day. When it finally started working, the signal was so weak it was practically useless. The dryer didn't produce any heat, so our clothes stayed wet. For a 4-night stay, they provided only three tiny tubes of toiletries—one shampoo, one conditioner, and one body lotion. Seriously? Who thinks that's enough for four nights? To make things even worse, there was no dishwasher detergent or laundry detergent. We were told to collect them from the office, but the office is only open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.—exactly when most travellers are out sightseeing. We asked if they could simply bring them to the room, and they flat-out refused. Terrible customer service and absolutely no flexibility. The only good thing about this place is the location and the view. That's it. Everything else was disappointing. The apartment is old, run-down, poorly maintained, and desperately needs a complete renovation. For the price they charge, this is completely unacceptable. Save yourself the frustration and book somewhere else. I certainly will never stay here again.

High floors, lovely views over the city and suburbs.

I had a pleasant stay in the apartment. They allowed me to check in early without additional charge. The cleanliness of the rooms are passable. My gripe is the toilet only has a toilet roll and 2 small packets of hand soap. I had to buy my own shampoo and body soap. I also had to buy my own washing detergent. So bring your own small bottles of supply to better plan your luggage space. Kitchen has the necessary cooking utensils and equipment. There is a nespresso machine for your daily caffeine hit. My advice is run through once before first use. I do not think it is washed regularly. The whole apartment only has one air conditioning unit in the dining area. There is a heater available in the bedroom if more heating is required. I stayed during winter, not sure how it will be in summer with only one air conditioner. Beds are comfortable and my bedsheets were clean. There is a swimming pool and sauna and gym available for use. Overall, the apartment was good enough for use. It served my needs. Good location, prepare simple meals, get my laundry done and a good night’s sleep. Deposit was returned to me within a week of checkout.

The apartement is old apartement which is builded around 10 years ago. On the first night, we've got a very bad room. The room smelled musty and the rug is not well cleaned. Also, the floor near the bathroom was so rotted that there was a hole in it. After i submitted my complaint, the next day i was offerred to move to another room. Which is better than the first one, even though still looks old, gloomy and not really well maintained. As a compensation, i also get free parking for one day. The kitchen amenities are complete, however, for the bathroom amenities, we were only given small tube of shampoo, body wash, conditioner and body lotion, also hair dryer and towels, but without Bath Mat. For toilet paper, they also only gave one roll. But we can ask for more as long as we ask for it. The staff is well communicated and hands on. No cleaning service, so you should clean the room by yourself. The location is great since it is located within CBD area and in front of Tram and train station.
