    I booked to stay at the Coast Inn Motel last night (Friday June 26, 2026) due to needing to change my flight to go and help a friend in Sydney at the last minute/unexpectedly yesterday evening. The check in even though early in the evening/after 5 pm was straightforward and easy. I further found out this morning that I now won't be flying down to Sydney until Monday. So I checked on line to see if the Coast Inn had availability still tonight and also tomorrow night just in case. It showed that it did (which I have now taken screen shots of) and so I proceeded to reserve the room. My partner went down to the back (5 mins down the Rd to put additional money - cash - in my account). While he did so I messaged the hotel to say that I was booking on line to stay again etc. Around 10 am there was a knock on the door from someone there at the hotel this morning to clean the vacated rooms. I explained that I had emailed and was just about to confirm the booking of the additional night as per what I have described here. There was no acknowledgement of the message I had sent or attempt to make contact (there being no one at reception to go and speak with) and there was no understanding for what I had explained. I was sharply told that I must have known check out was at 10 am. I indicated yes thus I had sent the message I had sent etc. There was still no acknowledgement of this and I was brusquely told I needed to be out in 5 mins. I explained I had just been doing some work on my laptop in anticipation of so confirming the booking that I had emailed to property about so I would need at least 10- 15 mins now but I would go as fast as I could. There was no understanding for this. I was also told there were no rooms available on the proper

    Check in was talking to a “ring doorbell” so missing that connection- service. However lots of places do this for weekend check ins now. So it’s not a negative- just having that friendly extra touch is preferred. The room smelt extremely clean. You could smell the bleach etc in the bathroom ( not a bad thing) smelt very clean. Very clean. Close to the water. Across the road and Ballina RSL which is awesome. Easy to find. Centrally located and just off the M1 freeway. New air con in the room. Off street parking. We usually like a couple of spare pillows.. we stay at a lot of hotels travel a lot and we missed this touch. A lovely clean place, reccomend. :)
