    The Mantra Portsea was an easy stay, however some things could be done better. Cleanliness of the rooms weren't the best, the floors especially. We chose a hotel room as it was just the 2 of us, but very small, no balcony. If you chose a 2 bedroom, this room would be your second room. Staff were good, location was just a 20 minute walk from town.

    Great location and friendly staff. The property is a little dated, and the room furnishings could benefit from a refresh and modern update. That said, we still had a wonderful holiday, as we spent very little time in the room and most of our time enjoying the sights of FNQ

    Staff were friendly and facilities clean. Plenty of onsite parking & and within reasonable walking distance from the main street. Room was so tiny it was almost claustrophobic. Bed was comfortable but had no comforter or doona; it was literally just a top sheet. The shower was tiny. Hot water took a while to kick in and pressure was average. Breakfast was ok. It wasn’t a full buffet. It was only continental so no bacon & eggs - if you get it for a good price included with your stay it’s ok value but definitely not worth the $25 pp per day if you add it once you get to the hotel. The layout / setup in the breakfast room was terrible and was an absolute nightmare if it was busy. No “house keeping” for stays under 8 days. The bins in the room were tiny also and filled very quickly. Had to pay $5 an hour to borrow a Kmart tennis racket and flat balls to use the onsite tennis court.
