Grand Hotel Yerevan - Small Luxury Hotels of the World

We booked 2 day stay for Wedding preparation. All is great except like any other places no bidet is available. For a 5 star hotel, i expected more amenities to offer on foreign visitors unlike smaller hotels or apartment.

A wonderful hotel located in the center of Yerevan, all you need is around withing walking distance, Comfortable and clean room, Staff are very friendly and supportive, especially the front desk reception who do their best to help,

We booked Grand Hotel Yerevan for the pool, balcony, and king sized bed. Reception tried to say they upgraded us for free, but we had already paid for our "upgrades" through Agoda/ *** because this hotel never returned our communication to them weeks in advance. (I sent an email directly to them through their website and included my reservation numbers through*** and Agoda/***). We got to the room and the bed was laughably NOT king size. We called reception to double check the bed size and they insisted it was a king. Absurd! It was a queen at most. We paid extra to have a room with a balcony. Unfortunately, our balcony and window view was of the HVAC ducts and gross corrugated metal roof of another structure. (See picture.) We called reception to request a different room, but the hotel didn't have any others available that day and we were out of the room the two following days. We ordered food from the hotel's restaurant and it was awful: broken cream of mushroom soup; sour eggplant rolls; super dry mikado cake that must have been frozen and defrosted. Pool and solarium were nice, probably the high points of the hotel. Location is great -- right next to Charles Aznavour Square. . . but Yerevan is a small city, so most other competitively-priced hotels are also in walkable distance to the center of activity. Other: -No washcloths in the bathroom -Towels hung right in front of toilet (gross!) -Small shower stall -TV had few channels in English (not for everyone, but some people need this to fall asleep) We stayed at the Marriott Courtyard in Yerevan for several days for a work event immediately prior to our three days at Grand Hotel Yerevan. We wish we had stayed at the Marriott Courtyard. Though no balcony, their king-sized bed is actually a king and their breakfast was awesome!
