It is said that location is everything and at 23 Low Dog, look no farther for the perfect Montana experience. This luxury vacation rental sits at the base of Andesite Mountain at Big Sky Resort, offering world class ski-in/ski-out during the winter months and mountain access during the summer months! For those who want to make first tracks while the rest of the group is still sipping coffee by the fireplace, simply head down the driveway, and you make your way alongside the road for two quick minutes to the Thunder Wolf Lift. Big Sky’s Mountain Village is also within walking distance and has all the shops and restaurants one might need. In addition, Lake Levinsky is a short jaunt from the house and presents the perfect way to make use of a hot summer day with paddle boarding, fishing, kayaking, and more.

Nestled in the scenic heart of the Madisons, Big Sky, Montana, offers an unparalleled base for year-round adventures. Located just an hour from both Yellowstone National Park and the vibrant college town of Bozeman, this charming community is perfectly positioned for exploration.

“Basecamp to Yellowstone” at Big Sky Resort serves as the ultimate launchpad for outdoor enthusiasts. In the summer, embark on scenic lift rides, guided hikes, and adrenaline-pumping activities like mountain biking and ziplining. The resort's Adventure Zipline is particularly thrilling, featuring four lines that span up to 1,500 feet and soar 150 feet above the forest floor, offering breathtaking views of Lone Mountain and the Spanish Peaks. For a more relaxed experience, the Nature Zipline provides a scenic journey suitable for all ages.

Big Sky Mountain Village, situated at the base of the resort, boasts a variety of shopping and dining options, making it a convenient and lively spot for visitors. Additionally, the charming Town Center of Big Sky is rapidly developing, offering a burgeoning scene of local shops, eateries, and cultural attractions.

Whether you're seeking exhilarating outdoor activities or a peaceful retreat in nature, Big Sky provides the perfect setting for your Montana adventures.

Ski-in/Ski-out Access | Best for skiers, but also possible for snowboarders who are up for some flat road sections.

Ski-Out: Travel down the road to the Thunderwolf Lift, or for the less experienced walk up the road to the Bear Back Poma (about a 5-minute walk).

Ski-In: Intermediate and Experts need to take Silverknife to Bear Back Poma. Ski past the bottom of the Poma on the ski trail to Low Dog Road. From here ski the road back to the house. We recommend beginners ski to the Summit Hotel and walk out the front of the hotel and ski the road the whole way back down to Low Dog Road. Silver Knife may be too steep for beginners. Note: During periods of melting the road could be exposed and cause the property to lose ski access since the road is necessary for parts of the process. The home is only ski-in/ski-out accessible when the road is snow-covered.

Bedroom Layout:

Master (third level) : King bed with en suite bathroom with shower

Bedroom 2 (third level): Two twin over twin bunk beds (sleeps 4) with shared hallway bathroom with shower

Bedroom 3 (fourth level): Queen bed with en suite bathroom with shower

Bedroom 4 (fourth level): Twin over Queen bunk bed with shared hallway bathroom

Loft (top level): Futon (sleeps 1)

Getting Around:

We highly recommend that our guests rent a 4x4 vehicle during the winter months (October-May). Please be aware that shuttle services must be booked in advance, and rideshare options like Uber or Lyft are unavailable in the area.

Other Things to Note:

Parking: the driveway holds up to 2 vehicles.

Interaction with Guests:

Your Super Host, Ascend Properties, is local and readily available to address any requests you may have during your stay.

Beautiful house, wonderful location. We were a bit worried that there wouldn't be enough snow for ski in / ski out. It hadn't snowed in almost two weeks, but we still had no problems. It's a beautifully designed house, with plenty of space.

Our group of 6 friends stayed at this house together and we had the absolute best time. There was more than enough space for us all to comfortably hang out, and the 4 bathrooms were so key to everyone getting ready without having to wait on anyone else. The hot tub was amazing and we used it nightly and looked at the stars. Communication with the host was prompt and clear. The ski out was fantastic for our tickets and time at Big Sky. We will definitely be back!

Our group had an amazing stay at this beautiful home! Some of the other reviews mentioned that there wasn’t enough space for a big group and that it felt cramped but we didn’t find this to be true at all! There was plenty of space for our group of 8 and we all were very comfortable. The ski in and out was very easy too and it’s also walking distance (14 min) to the main resort area and about a 7 min walk to the first lift if you’re not comfortable doing ski in/out. We highly recommend staying at this VRBO!

This property used to be called The Treehouse on Low Dog. Now, it shows as a new listing "23 Low Dog Road" . First impressions were small, tiny kitchen, and vertical layout: two bedrooms 2 flights down, two bedrooms one flight down, loft one flight up. All items in house work, but it is clear that place was "treehouse" that's been re-presented (likely due to less than flattering reviews) as "New to Market" Overall, this house was very small for 10 people (provided furniture in living room provided seating for 5 ..... Finally, this was sub par compared to the places i have stayed / visited in Big Sky for this price range.
