This pet-friendly single-family home has everything you need to make you feel comfortable on the island. While the cottage is a Kure Beach classic, "Cote de Kure Cottage" features updates and a very convenient location mixed in with antique charms and a cozy feel that will make you want to come back and stay here often.
Relax on the south facing front porch and wave at the folks strolling by, or take in some sun and a little more privacy in the fenced in back yard. Of course your furry family members are also invited. Inside the home, you'll find an open living, dining and kitchen area. The primary bedroom has a Queen bed as well as an adjacent single room with a Twin. Three more bedrooms with Full beds are downstairs each with its own beachy feel. Charge will be added after booking when the option to bring a pet and number of pets are selected. Nonrefundable fees are listed in the House Rules and animals must be disclosed via the Rental Agreement. Fees are not included automatically when booking on VRBO and must be paid separately to the host if you wish to bring a pet(s). Failure to disclose and prepay for dogs will result in penalty fees which are disclosed in House Rule #16.

The house was comfortable and clean but the layout of the house was odd. There was no access to the backyard from inside the house. You had to go out the front door or back bedroom door and enter the backyard from one of two gated entrances. You also could not walk barefooted in the yard due to spurgrass which has tiny thorns. And the bushes in the front of the home were in severe need of trimming. They extended over into the porch and onto the only driveway for the home. We also experienced an unfortunate incident with the outdoor chairs in the backyard shortly after arriving, but thankfully it was a young man who sat in the chair first. The chair immediately broke apart and the 30 year old fell back onto the pavers. We then realized, on closer examination, that 3 other chairs were also noted to have several cracks and unsafe to sit. The rental company was notified and replaced the chairs within 2 days. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed for cooking. The beds were in good shape and slept very well.

I believe the owners were as pet friendly as they could be, but the downside is that the fenced yard cannot be accessed from inside the house, nor can it be seen inside the house.also the house was very dusty with dust bunnies under the furniture. I bought a small vacuum to clean the furniture. The vacuum available to use was very heavy and not good on solid floors. My dog doesn’t shed. We stayed at the property for three months, end of December to end of March. We really enjoyed being in that neighborhood in Kure Beach, it was our first visit there. Being close to the beach, Fort Fisher and the State Park gave us lovely places to walk ourselves and the dog. Carolina Beach was near enough for meals out from time to time. This property was advertised to sleep nine, however there is no way that nine people would be comfortable in the house all day every day in cold or inclement weather! We had a weekend of snow while I was there.I don’t know about the air conditioning, it never was warm enough to need it, but the heating worked, but blew cold air in between heating causing a constant draft. When it got too cold for the heat pump to work the auxiliary heating came on and the draft stopped!

We loved staying at this beach house. We had plenty of room for family being together but not too crowded. We had tons of laughter together so we had a wonderful trip. The walk to beach was easy and right at a beach access. We liked this beach access. Usually when we go to the beach by an access, we have to maneuver our wagon over steps. This beach access had no steps just a ramp! It made getting to beach very easy. Our family would stay at this house again in the future.

Overall all a good stay. The ONLY issues we faced were Electrical outages- lights and fans in main up living went out for 3 days of our stay, and there were Tons of Wasps on the property in the back yard area, near bedroom door. It would be nice if the brush was cut down so sitting on the porch UNDER the deck could have been used. Great location, and easy walk to the beach!
