We stayed at the unique and charming Casa Pita in Caminha for a little over a week in August.
Casa Pita is an extraordinary historic property adjacent to the main square in Caminha. The property feels as though it is a world away from the center of town. The grounds are a private compound which provides a quiet respite from the noise and crowds a few meters away. The large property and grounds are impeccably manicured including a beautiful courtyard with fountains, flower gardens, a pool, and barbecue area. There are several gardens and nooks to find solitude or sun and pool if you prefer. The unique historic home is an amalgam of multiple dwellings built and updated over centuries.
We stayed in the "studio" a newer addition and very comfortable one-bedroom apartment. We also had an opportunity to tour the "tower" with sweeping 360 degree views.
The family was very generous with their time. They were warm and kind enough to show us around the property including a tour of the historic centuries-old house with it’s amazing history.
Don't hesitate to book and enjoy stepping out of your room barefoot into the grass or lounging by the pool before walking out of the green doors and back into the heart of Caminha.
The living room of the studio apartment is open with a sofa and a television on a chest of drawers. It would be nice to have a coffee table or a folding table for greater comfort when eating-in.
The bathroom was functional but small.

Wat een fantastisch verblijf. Het is ontzettend sfeervol, comfortabel en de eigenaar is heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Er is een heerlijk zwembad en een mooie tuin. De locatie kan niet beter, je zit direct aan het gezellige plein van Caminha met leuke horeca. In tien minuten rijden zit je aan het strand. Ik kan het niet genoeg aanbevelen!
Het zwembad ligt naast een basisschool waardoor het soms wat luidruchtig kan zijn. Verder geen klachten.

The property is such a unique place to stay.
From the outside, you are in the centre of a beautiful quaint town, and once through into the front door it takes you into a beautiful oasis of peacefulness and beauty.
The hosts were so friendly and helpful and so welcoming.
It had everything you needed for a relaxing holiday and more….
