The Iconic Charlotte's Chateau - 2 minute walk to beach w/ Private Pool

Impressive size for a beach property - plenty of room for our extended family of 6! And not just sleeping space, but plenty of areas to relax and read alone. It was our first visit to Jekyll Island and we loved the place. This property was right across from one of the upper beach staircases - we just had to keep an eye on the tides as high-tide had the stairs in water, not beach. But we were also only a 2 minute drive to a public beach when we wanted to go during the high tide. And the pool was fantastic, well-maintained and a good size. My grandkids spent a lot of time in the pool! The kitchens were both well-equipped and clean. Would recommend for families.

House was perfect. Great location and owners were awesome.

Another great stay at Charlotte’s Chateau! The house was perfect for two families with kids and two other families that came over for dinner each night. We’ll be back!

BEWARE! An alligator comes into the backyard and pool of this property on a daily basis! It walks onto the patio even if people are outside making noise. This property backs up to a swamp and has holes in the fence where the alligators come and go. The owner says the fence has been reinforced but it clearly has not been effective. The only resolution the owner offered was to call a phone number, which we did. The wildlife line said they are familiar with the property and get calls about alligators on a regular basis. However nobody ever came to assist and the owner did not offer any other solution. We had to steer clear of the backyard on multiple occasions. The pool was the main reason we booked this property so this was very disappointing. The house is currently for sale and it is obvious the owners are not concerned with keeping up with regular maintenance of the property. While the owners were responsive to our emails, they did not do anything to fix any of the issues when brought to their attention. For the cost of the property, it was very disappointing that everything in the house was not in working order. The whole place could use a good deep clean as well. The house has the potential to be amazing. It is big with lots of space to sleep a huge group. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is beautiful. It is close to the beach however the one within walking distance is teeming with mosquitos and completely engulfed at high tide. We would not stay here again.
