I got a very good last minute deal and got amazing quality for my money. The location is good, only a short walk to the center and the view from the breakfast room over Ürgüp was amazing. And don't get me started, the breakfast was copious! served on your table with lots of varieties, but even too much. If you have never stayed in a cave hotel, this will be a special experience. Extra bonus, many cute cats to pet if you are into them. Also it gets cold in October, but there was an electric heater in the room to keep you toasty warm.
Remember they're caves, so they're always a breeding ground for mould, the rooms look amazing on photos but they will smell funky when you actually arrive. Also it's expensive to maintain a cave hotel. Mold can be a problem to some people with compromised immune system. I actually got a slight headache. Upon my arrival, the bathroom sink was not clean,, probably forgotten. Breakfast was enormous, but food waste is an issue, half of what they served was not eaten by the guests...
