Waterpark Giethoorn

The house was very comfortable with all the facilities we needed. We were there during a heatwave, but it was not an issue as their airco cooled down the whole bungalow. The ladies at reception were very friendly and helpful. You can rent a boat at the location which was very convenient and we really enjoyed it.

It could have been handy to have a dishwasher, but for the rest, it was all perfect.

The waterpark itself and the overall location are excellent. We have stayed here before and will likely return — just not to the superior chalet. The water views are a highlight, and the site generally is well-kept and enjoyable. The reception staff is always friendly and well mannered - very helpful.

The superior two-bedroom chalet is poorly designed — all five doors (three bedrooms, toilet, and shower) open into the same tiny space, constantly hitting each other. The marks on every door make this obvious. Staff confirmed it is a known design fault, which raises the question of why it continues to be offered and priced as a superior option. The dining table is uneven with sunken grooves. A wine glass fell and broke simply from normal dinner movements around table when some one got up. We paid for the glass, but staff were not interest to inspect the table or hear the context more. The outdoor light was not working, so we could not sit outside in the evening and enjoy the water view. Having stayed in a standard three-bedroom chalet last year for €40 less, this superior chalet offered noticeably less comfort and space in practice.
