It was perfect in every way

We loved the place! The coziness, the architetture, the staff, the breakfast, we really felt at home. We also loved the location - the bucolic village of Brufe is beautiful.

Nothing to mention

Amazing view and very comfortable house. Owners very sympatic and friendly

The house is located on the border of the Peneda-Gerês National Park and this alone makes it unique as Brufe is a very small village with no other facilities (bar, supermarket etc.). A few metres from the house is the only restaurant in the area, the house has been lovingly renovated, and the rooms are bright and cosy. The girl who welcomed us at the check-in deserves 5 stars for her kindness.

The owners practically live in the house so there can be some awkwardness in the communal areas, the refrigerator which is indicated as shared is actually used almost entirely by the owners. Among the negative points, two stand out, which were very important to us; the first: we were asked for a deposit of 250 euros, which was then withdrawn at our insistence, for the damage that could have caused our dog (less than 6 kg and the deposit was not indicated in Booking) and secondly we were not given keys to the house but only the keys to our room so to enter in the evening you have to ring the doorbell and wait for the owner to come and open the door (also the house is closed at midnight). The breakfast is good but not exceptional as we had read in the reviews on Booking, (normal jam, ham and cheese, and little more, and when we asked for our croissants the owner checked if we had made the request on the initial check-in sheet). We had an initial problem with the room we were given because it was right in front of the common room with kitchen and television (whereas we had always asked for a quiet room) , the girl who did the check-in was worried about our bad mood and after having checked with us that on Booking there were two rooms that could replace the one we had, she took the responsibility to give it to us since even if the check-in was scheduled at 3pm and we had arrived at 4pm, we had been there for over an hour without having had an answer from the owners (called dozens of times on the phone by us and by their collaborator they never answered). 5 stars to the staff only for the collaborator.
