Riverside

Dan was very helpful and responsive, and very welcoming. The room and the whole house are spotless. The room has its own en suite shower, and there is a bathroom on the landing which isn't used by anyone else but you do have to go out of the room to reach it. There is a lovely view of the river outside the window and there is very little traffic noise despite being a 5 minute bus ride from the centre of York. There are two bus stops, the one a couple of minutes' walk away has buses every 10-20 minutes to the city centre. Overall it was lovely and a great way to stay in York if you have driven there and don't want to fight with parking inside the city.

Helpful and friendly host; excellent kitchen area, fully equipped; everything clean and comfortable - and a gloriously peaceful setting yet only 20 minutes' walk from the city centre.

I like being invisible and anonymous, so a home stay really isn't my ideal. And having to go through a shared area to get to the loo made it that little bit worse. I think this says more about me than about the property, which is in all other respects a very comfortable place to stay.

The house and the room is very clean. The kitchen made available to us was very well equipped. And the host was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The location is quiet with a nice view from a window.

We've done an upfront research - and we were prepared to the conditions offered. Nothing really surprised us. Even if we had any question marks - as how it will look like to stay with our host under the same room - in reality the experience was very positive.
