Enjoy a lake front view of Laguna Bacalar from your private patio. Our unique loft styled palapa features a gigantic patio with dining table plus outside chairs for enjoying the view. Inside the upstairs loft has a king size bed while downstairs is a fully equipped kitchen (okay no oven – but rarely used here in Bacalar) – a spacious living room with a trundle bed allowing two others to sleep peacefully . There is Wifi both inside and out allowing you two work or stream videos. The Palapa is designed as the Mayans did with palms creating a thatched roof designed to keep the interior cool . There is NOW WITH AIR CONDITIONING in the Palapa. Windows are large and allow air to flow. Plus we do have plenty of fans to also keep you cool. The bathroom is large with both hot and cold water.
The shared dock is 20 steps down to the water where you can enjoy swimming , floating or simply relaxing under the shaded palapa roof.
We are only a 7 minute from town but due to our northern location – we are extremely quiet , unique and private. You can see flocks of parrots, parakeets and even toucans in the trees here. And the stars you can see at night breathtaking!!
And we are dog friendly too!

Guest access
Guests in our three villas share access to our dock and the hammocks and lounges under its palapa. Free to use are three single sit-on-top kayaks and an excellent canoe, for exploring the laguna or paddling to our nearest favorite restaurant. Also available are a couple inflatables, a pile of foam noodles, a few children's lifejackets, and some masks, snorkels and fins.
Other things to note
We ask guests to check in between 12 and 6pm, so please plan your flights and drive time accordingly. We are 4 hours south of Cancun airport, the last 2 hours of which have almost no cell signal or streetlights. We are 40 minutes from Chetumal airport, where evening flight arrivals are often delayed. If you expect to arrive after 6 pm, please check with us before booking to confirm whether we can accommodate a later arrival.

You are always welcome to arrive early and relax on the dock until your villa is ready (we have a separate bathroom and changing area). On your departure day, you are welcome to enjoy the dock and laguna after checking out. Late checkout may be available.

We love animals. We have six friendly dogs who like new people, especially kids.They live in our house, at the other end of the property. They spend most of their time near the house, unless you love dogs, in which case they know it and may hang out near you. They also like well-socialized dog visitors who are good with cats (we have two). If you would like to bring yours, please do!, but let us know first. You and your pooches are welcome to join us for the morning jungle walk. :-)
