So many good things to say, it will be hard to sum it up in a digestible review but here goes... Staying at Wayarumi was the best decision I made on my trip to Peru. It was my first trip to South America, and Miguel and Josep (who run the hotel/lodge) went above and beyond to make not only my stay but my entire trip fantastic. From recommendations, helping me find a car rental when plans changed, to even picking me up Aloe when I got cooked in the sun on hikes - they always made themselves available to assist in any way they could. Having travelled to a lot of countries at this point, I'd never received this level of care and attention anywhere. The accommodation itself was incredible. It' centrally located for the popular trailheads and lakes in Cordillera Blanca. Clean, new, well-maintained, and perfectly located. It's away from the craziness of places like Huaraz, but close enough to Carhuaz to still get groceries you might want in a short drive. You probably won't need much though, because Darwen is available to cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner - and to be honest, the food at Wayarumi was the best I had on this trip. I'm a picky eater and loved every meal. Everything I could've wanted on this trip was provided by Wayarumi that goes far beyond what you would expect from lodging accommodations - regular suggestions for my time in the area, help when plans changed, assistance when I needed things completely unrelated to my lodging. I will recommend this place to everyone I know looking to visit Cordillera Blanca / Huascarán National Park. I've attached a couple pictures of the 10/10 view from the lodge itself.
