Jungle lodge

The location of the lodge was perfect for us. The lodge itself is really nicely laid out and there was adequate kitchen equipment. I would have liked a cafetiere but that's being picky! Went and bought one so really not a problem. Location on the Shorefield site is lovely and great for walking to Milford. Perfect for car trips to the local area.

The sofas and beds were not comfortable at all. Lovely lodge but a bit tired. I also hadn't realised that when the host said to bring our own supplies that meant bin bags. spare tea towels and any cleaning products other than washing up liquid. Not a problem but if I'd known in advance it would have been better.

Jungle lodge is located on the edge of the site, and the back patio area was very private. Inside the Lodge looks lovely at first!

Where do I start!!! The inside of the Lodge looked great at first. The first thing to go wrong was the boiler, we had to wait two days with no heating or hot water, (not great on cold October days) although the host did call out the engineers as soon as we told him about it. The double bed was very uncomfortable and lumpy, and the bedding didn't smell too good either. We also only had one very flat horrible pillow each! A lot of the blinds and window frames were broken, the front door lock was tricky to lock, especially from the inside at night time! There were codweds everywhere and the dishwasher was full of dirty tableware when we arrived! The outside could have done with a sweep and a good clean. We met with the host to inform him of these issues but sadly, he was full of excuses and did not want to hear about them. I wouldn't stay in this Lodge again, appalling and definitely not worth the £800 we paid!

The location and site are very good. The kitchen was great and the equipment sufficient.

There was not a lot that we didn’t like.

On first impressions the lodge appeared fine.

I feel the whole place needs a deep clean. There was a very odd smell to the lodge that I found overpowering despite trying to ventilate it. The window frames were all dirty and have not been cleaned for some time. There was a strong smell of mold in the bathroom area. Oven needed to be cleaned as did the equipment provided.

Stunning property, really comfortable and modern. Well thought through, dishwasher and washing machine too. Great heating controls, two ensuits one is a jack and gill, work great.

The only thing I’d suggest would be to take your own pillows.

The Lodge was nice and quiet with private terrace. Location was good with a short walk to the sea front. The Lodge had most of the items required for a short break and had a nice set up inside. Awesome fridge and cooker and nice living area. Felt it was reasonable costs to stay as it can sleep 4. Overall was a nice place to stay.

What let the Lodge down was that at first it looked great however once you got onto the terrace it was clear it had not been cleaned or tidied for a while, could of done with a clean, sweep up and cobweb clearing. The terrace itself was extremely squeaky to walk on as well. The inside was ok in terms of cleanliness but could be better. Found a few hairs dotted about on sheets and in the shower. The bathmats look like they had just been picked up off the floor and hung back up as they had hair and bits all over them, so we used our own towel on the floor. The lodge had a dishwasher but no tablets so I think it would be good to have that available. However, we were left some washing up liquid and a bin bag. Within the price to stay was a £50 cleaning fee, which I feel is too high for how the lodge was presented. It is either not being done professionally or the cleaners are not worth £50. The Lodge was also in need of some TLC cosmetically inside but I appreciate it's not new. The shower needs un blocking as the tray fills up very quickly, which is slightly annoying as I had to keep turning it off in case it overflowed. I only used it once and as I bought a pass for the swimming I used the showers at the swimming pool but not ideal when you should be able to use facilities where you have paid to stay. The shower door also needs some attention. I am sure these issues will be resolved.
