Studio #22 Modern Studio in OKC's Vibrant Midtown!

We stayed here due to the location. I ran the OKC Run to Remember. The Shay was walking distance to the start line which was amazing! Overall was clean and nice. Parking was a bit frustrating, we ended up parking on the street all weekend.

We had a great stay at The Shay while we were in town for a gymnastics meet with our teen. The full kitchen was a great feature for us to be able to make healthy meals. And the sofa bed was very comfortable.

I'm not sure when it's too much communication or enough. I received 3 txts over multiple days and 5 emails with everything from directions to the building and directions once I got to the building, to where the apartment was. I feel like all that could have been in 1 email and/or 1 text message. I know that a studio apartment is limited on space but, if you wanted to watch TV you were going to do so at a 45° angle from the couch. Speaking of the couch, it was absolutely the most uncomfortable thing I have ever sat on. I sat down, shifted around for a little bit, when getting my shoes on, and then got up because it was just that uncomfortable and finished putting my shoes on while sitting on the bed. I turned the air conditioner all the way down and still never seem to get the room quite cool enough. It was a little wall unit that went down to 66 I believe but at no point did it ever feel that inside. There was also a set of rules provided (pretty standard for most short term stays) and a 2 hondo security deposit charge which was staying on your card until they inspected the place. Also, you were going to be charged a MINIMUM of half a hondo every time something wasn't done. Forget to turn the thermostat to 76? There's half a hondo Leave trash in the trash can? There's another half hondo. I understand that you want people to follow the rules but, holding money hostage and then having fines for something as simple as the thermostat seemed a bit excessive. I didn't even use the trash cans because I was afraid I might forget a gum wrapper or paper cup and get charged for it. Now, before you say I'm being paranoid, I have literally had a friend that spilled water in an Uber and the driver said don't worry about it and then charged them for the detailing of the entire car...for less than a shot glass of WATER on the floor. Paranoid or not I'm not losing money over some stupid BS. This building, "The Shay" is a bunch of studio size apts turned into STRs. But by the way they talk about it they act like it's a hotel. Okay, well, if that's the case then I expect somebody else to do the cleaning up and taking out the trash... 🤷

We had a great stay, the place was spotless and super cozy. It was located in midtown which was pretty convenient for the most part. Not too much traffic in the area, but parking was a hassle. I wish we had the option to have the place for at least 24hours, our check-in was at 4pm and our check-out was 11am the next day since we only stayed one night. It was nice overall.
