Somewhere between Ocala’s mossy oaks and wide-open skies, Henry’s Hideaway announces itself with personality - part retreat, part playground, and shaped by the spirit of one beloved wiener dog. This single-level home is built for the kind of trip where kids run the fenced backyard freely, dogs explore every corner, and adults finally exhale. Fire up the gas grill as the afternoon fades, claim the pool table before someone else does, or settle into a chair by the fire pit and let the evening find its own pace.
Sleeping Arrangements:
Three bedrooms sleep up to nine guests across five beds - two king beds and three twin beds suited to a range of group makeups. A queen pull-out sofa in the game room provides additional sleeping space for larger parties. Cotton bed linens, extra pillows, and room-darkening blinds carry throughout every room, with a walk-in closet, closet, and dresser offering ample storage for longer stays.
Living Space:
A 65-inch HDTV and game console anchor the open living area for easy evenings at home. Central air conditioning, central heating, a ceiling fan, and an indoor fireplace give guests full comfort control across every season. A dedicated workspace - ergonomic chair, laptop stand, and surge protector in a private space - supports those who need to stay connected. Board games and the home’s signature wiener dog-themed décor give every room a warm and playful personality.
Kitchen & Dining:
Samsung stainless steel appliances - electric stove, oven, and refrigerator - anchor the kitchen alongside a dishwasher, microwave, and mini fridge. A drip coffee maker and Keurig keep mornings on track, and cooking basics, dishes and silverware, wine glasses, a toaster, a baking sheet, and a blender are all on hand. The indoor dining table seats the whole group, while the outdoor dining area offers an al fresco alternative just steps from the pool.

The fully fenced backyard spans 1.5 acres, giving children and dogs room to roam freely. The private outdoor pool is open year-round and available 24 hours a day - please note it is not heated, so plan accordingly based on the season. A gas BBQ grill, fire pit, outdoor dining area, and outdoor furniture complete the space, and the screened lanai creates a shaded spot to take in the pool view and unwind.

The detached, climate-controlled game room sits just steps from the main house and brings a full entertainment lineup: an 8-foot pool table, 60-game arcade, life size games, a 55-inch Smart TV, and a beverage fridge. Family & Pet-Friendly:
Henry’s Hideaway warmly welcomes dogs - a $99 pet fee applies per pet. If you’re planning to bring more than two, reach out before booking; the hosts are open to accommodating larger groups depending on breed. For families, baby gear is available upon request: a crib, pack ‘n play, standalone high chair, children’s dinnerware, outlet covers, and baby safety gates. The single-level layout means no stairs anywhere in the home, keeping navigation easy for guests of all ages.

Henry's Hideaway is a fantastic property! Adorned with wonderful pictures of Henry the Dachshund, the home was the perfect setting to visit some of our family. My Granddaughter loved it so much, she spent the whole week with us. The swimming pool provided much needed relief from the heat and the covered grilling area was perfect for Independence Day burgers and hot dogs. The game room was a big hit with everyone, playing pool, board games, and old school arcade games. Arguably, our elderly Peekapoo may have enjoyed it more than everyone. The home was spacious, but also opened up into a covered sunroom leading to the huge back yard. Our host ensured our stay was outstanding, from the informative communications to ensuring the house was stocked with key amenities. It was very clean and organized exceptionally well. If you're ever visiting Florida, Henry's Hideaway is a true gem for a relaxing stay!

We arrived to a clean home that was in good shape and well maintained. My family enjoyed the pool and the location was central to many of the theme parks and activities we had planned for the week. The back porch is great for relaxing. I’ve stayed at many VRBOs and this was one of the best experiences I’ve had. Definitely recommend if you’re visiting Ocala.
