This cottage was perfect for our visit to historic Jacksonville. Check in was quick and easy. The property was minutes from town yet had a comfortable feel of being in the countryside. The hosts responded quickly to our inquiries. They were kind enough to quickly return a valuable item I left. Elizabeth's Cottage was perfect for our visit. Excellent choice for a lovely area.

Place was pet friendly. Overall clean. Carpets could use a better vacuum clean. Landscaping could use a refresh.I don't think we would have sat outside even if the weather was good. The washer was not working as it should.

The house was as clean as it could be. It definitely needs some work, the shower looks moldy in the seams. It’s an old country house. I felt comfortable using the kitchen, it was clean. It was a peaceful and quiet area. The biggest issues for me were the bugs, and the smell. There were earwigs all over inside the house. My husband rinsed probably 5 of them down the drain in the shower. There would be multiple of them crawling around the carpet in the bedroom or crawling on the drapes. They could definitely use the assistance of a pest service. Then there’s the smell. I don’t know exactly what it was, it wasn’t like rancid, but the house smelled terrible when we first walked in. It was more than just an old house smell, I can’t quite describe it. After being in and out a few days it wasn’t as noticeable, but it was extremely unpleasant walking in to that. Overall the stay was not bad, I would stay again if I had no other options of hotels in the price range. It wouldn’t be my first choice though.
