Private Basement with kitchenette

This little basement apartment suited my needs perfectly. I needed to be close to Washington, which is 20-30 minutes away by car depending on the traffic. It's not close to a metro stop, but it's perfect if you have a car. It is located in a safe Virginia suburb (Annandale) and has a free parking spot out front, washer and dryer, microwave and toaster oven, TV and WiFi. It was impressively clean when I arrived, and if you stay for a while like I did, you can have it cleaned again for a modest price.It was a great shelter from the heat of the summer, and a dehumidifier helped keep it nice and cool. I found the hosts to be very helpful whenever I had questions. I would definitely recommend it as an affordable and cozy place for an individual or a couple.

The owner had good communication but was tardy on instructions for exit. If he would either provide a list at the property or give them sooner and not the morning of departure.

Overall this place was about a 15-20 minute ride to the concert hall so it was perfect for that and we went mountain bike riding at Wakefield park on the following day. Having to walk through the front door of the house was a little awkward but it felt private once we were in the basement!
