For lovers of relaxation and the sea, Eastern Sicily and the area surrounding Syracuse offer everything you could wish for. Starting from the ancient Greek city and heading south, the best equipped and most beautiful beaches to explore are Minareto, Fanusa, Arenella and Fontane Bianche, whose name derives from natural sources of fresh water and the particular white colour of the sand. Within the island of Ortigia, you will also find equipped solarium (Zefiro and Nettuno) and a small free beach called Cala Rossa. Going further south, approximately 30 km away, we find some beautiful unspoilt and inaccessible beaches, including Calamosche, Vendicari with its Natural Faunal Oasis and the beautiful San Lorenzo. For culture enthusiasts, you must see the Greek Theatre of Syracuse and the entire archaeological park with the Ear of Dionysius, a cave carved into limestone in the shape of a human ear, the Paolo Orsi museum, and also the Latomies of the Capuchins, as well as Ortigia itself with its historical and cultural beauties as well as scenic ones. Don't miss Noto, the seafront with the Avola tuna fishery and finally the fishing village of Marzamemi. In short, Sicily is a land to be explored entirely and its natural and cultural beauties are treasures with which to fill your gaze.
Catania Fontanarossa airport is approximately 70 km away, Comiso Pio La Torre airport 90 km away. Syracuse train station is very close to the bus terminal from the airport and 8 km from the apartment.
