Familienwohnung im Herzen von Bern mit Pool und Sauna

Beautiful property in a central location in Bern. Well stocked kitchen, comfy furniture and bed, very spacious.

The property advertises - a pool, washing machine, oven and air conditioning. These felt like over sells slightly. The pool is in the main apartment block and only available after 6:30pm for booking, so not ideal with young kids. There is no oven, just a stove which made cooking quick family meals tough. The washing machine is 3 floors down so we didnt bother using, and the air conditioning is a plug in unit only. The apartment was far too warm in summer conditions which unfortunately meant we didnt enjoy it as much as we’d hoped. Whilst we still enjoyed our stay in this beautiful apartment, I wanted to provide accurate details on these features as they are not ideal for families staying in summer. In winter, it’d be fab! The parking is also 35 franks per 24 hours which wiped out a third of our spending money over the course of a week, so probably dont use a car if you stay here and use the train instead (station opposite!)

Fantastic location, within walking distance of all the places we wanted to visit. The apartment is huge! There’s so much space available, and the ceilings are high too, giving a lovely sense of peace and relaxation. And even though it’s in a busy location - just opposite the station - with the windows closed you don’t hear a thing. A really interesting feature is the apartment comes with its own private pool in the basement. We were there each night, from 20:00 to 21:30. It’s a really unique and enjoyable feature.

It wasn’t able to manually lock the front door from the inside. My wife said she wouldn’t have felt secure staying there by herself, as anyone knowing the code could have come in. And we couldn’t work out how to access the roof terrace that’s shown in the property pictures. Having said that, we didn’t message the host about it, so maybe it would have been possible. Finally, storage in the children’s room was limited. So we ended up using the baby bed as a makeshift clothes shelf.

This place is magical. It’s perfect in every sense. Perfect location, perfect deco, not to mention the swimming pool downstairs!!
