From the moment I arrived at Nicura Ranch, I felt like I’d stepped into a peaceful retreat where time slows down and nature takes center stage. The setting is absolutely stunning, rolling hills, tree-lined pastures, and the kind of quiet that lets you hear your own thoughts again.
What I loved most was the connection to the animals. Waking up to the soft sounds of horses and goats just outside my suite was something special. The Thoroughbred Suite, with its cozy charm and stepping out into the barn, made me feel like I was part of the ranch family. The fire pit on the patio, the view of the pasture, and the thoughtful touches like fresh muffins and local cream made it feel like home—only better.
The hosts were incredibly welcoming, striking that perfect balance between giving you space and making sure you have everything you need. And if you're traveling with a dog, this place is a dream—off-leash freedom, a fenced dog park, and even complimentary dog walking.

While Nicura Ranch had many heartwarming touches and moments of serenity, there were just a few things that didn’t quite match the expectations I had going in. The property itself feels more like a cozy homestead than a wide-open ranch.
One detail that stood out was this is a horse ranch, I was expecting more room to park. One thing to keep in mind, especially for those traveling with larger vehicles, is that parking was quite limited. I was driving my F-350 long bed, and while I managed, the space was tight enough that I had to back all the way out to the road. It’s a small detail, but worth noting for anyone arriving in a full-size truck or towing something behind.
That said, none of this took away from the genuine warmth of the experience. The care and thought the hosts pour into the space are evident, and with a few small tweaks, this spot has all the makings of a truly special retreat.

I loved the suite. it was cozy and so cute. the complimentary items that were provided really made us feel welcome. I loved spending time with the horses and goats.

The hosts are super friendly and made us feel so welcome. Nick introduced us to his horses, dogs, goats and chickens. The property itself is in the country, and it's obvious that a great deal of love has gone into it. An added bonus was the bourbon left for us at night and homemade muffins in the morning. Guests can gather around the fire pit in the evening to talk while sipping bourbon. I loved staying here!
The sofa bed I slept on was fine, but my friend's bed in the bedroom was super saggy, she said. The little table in the bathroom had to be removed to close the bathroom door, and the lower cupboard doors in the kitchen fell off when opened. If I were to be super critical, I'd say that I didn't like the flowery sheets and coverlet. No need to go all Laura Ashley. BUT! I still would highly recommend this property as a unique experience that I will always remember!

Beautiful grounds with spectacular views! Morning muffins were amazing! Allowing my dog to go off leash after traveling in the car all day was such a plus. We loved interacting with the horses! Many pictures taken!
They gallery was very nice but it was too warm to hang out in. Maybe ceiling fans or a/c would work.
