From the moment we arrived (actually, even in the correspondence before we arrived), it felt like we were family members coming back from abroad to stay. We arrived (really late – but like everything, it was no problem) to a goody basket of wine, nuts, chocolates, bread, honey and much more, many of which were home produce. Later in the week we received a basket of home-grown vegetables, and if we had been able to be in, Zeljka had noticed from the passports it was my daughter’s birthday and had offered to bring a cake!
The property is fantastic. Because it suits our needs, we often cook and eat at ‘home’, and the kitchen and barbecue area had everything you could think of. The pool and surrounding area are brilliant, although you would need to watch with small children who couldn’t swim. The pool table upstairs provided great entertainment. We had one brief turn in the sauna, but it was already nearly that temperature outside in July, so more heat would have been just too much!
The bathrooms were good; always having hot water. The security gate was easy to use and the playpark looked nice, but my youngest child is 16, so it didn’t get tried out.
As I said at the start, we were made to feel, not like important guests, but actual extended family members, and for this, I am extremely grateful. I have one tiny reservation (see below), but it has nothing at all to do with Zeljka and her house, which were truly outstanding.
Being away from the big towns and resorts clearly made this property more affordable – the same thing near Primosten would have cost at least double. This meant, to get to most places, it took and hour or so to drive, so if you are someone who likes to get out and about, bear this in mind. However, shopping is convenient. There are two small supermarkets nearby with beautiful fresh bread, eggs, milk, fresh vegetables and loads of other provisions. The town of Knin is only quarter of an hour away and has a few bigger supermarkets, including Lidl. It also has an important historical site which is well worth a visit, as well as a few restaurants. Drnis is a similar distance in the other direction.
So, if you want a week or two by a pool with the occasional shopping trip to stock up the fridge/freezer, this ticks all the boxes. If you want a mix of pool days and beach days, or to visit Trogir or Zadar, just be prepared to put the travel time in.

We have spent the best imaginable holidays at this house. It's all new and well maintained. Sauna and the private pool were definitely the highlights. We spent a lot of time playing billard in the gym facility and family card games at the barbecue table outside. We devided our time into half day sightseeing trips and the rest of the day at the pool, the house location allows for that, so we visited the Krka river waterfalls, Split, Zadar, Sibenic and more local attractions within a week.
There are two grocery stores within 300m, with amazing croissants (among other things).
It is difficult to serve this place justice in a short review. The pictures do nicely show the amenities, but they cannot convey the lovely atmosphere of a Croatian little town and the kindness and attention to detail we have experienced from the host.
