Marbella Real Golden Mile -EaW Homes

We spent 3 weeks in this apartment and pretty much felt like home. The urbanization 'Real' is beautiful. It has luscious gardens, lovely pools, the location is superb and it felt secure. The gym in the premises (despite the equipment being slightly old) was a nice bonus. The apartment itself is spacious with plenty of storage (I particularly loved the "walk-in" closet). There is no oven however there is plenty that can be cooked on the stove if needed and of course eating outside. The terrace was a great bonus - spacious and sunny for most of the day. The TV doesn't have the best selection of channels, especially for English speakers, however we used the cable to connect the TV (not a smart TV) to our phone and we watched Netflix, YouTube, Prime, etc so that worked out perfect. The WiFi worked great. The communication with East and West homes was 10 out of 10 and their employee Celeste was great. I would definitely stay here again.

I'm not going to score down on this however the toaster needs replacing and the bedsheets they are using in the main bedroom are too small for that bed. I had to improvise by using second sheet that I found and used the two sheets, one covering upper half of the bed and the second one covering the bottom half. Not what you expect to be doing when renting an apartment in Marbella 🤣 however it wasn't a big deal as I found solution.

Beautiful gated urbanization with lovely pool area right outside the gate from the apartment, in a great location, with free under parking.

Collecting the keys was straightforward. We met the host at the property and someone handed over the keys. Correspondence pre arrival was via WhatsApp which gave clear instructions on where to meet. The property was clear and spacious and the kitchen was well equipped, although some things could have been upgraded. The beds were comfortable (if you like a firm bed), and the outdoor terrace was lovely. The location of the property is very good, close to some nice restaurants and cafes, and only a short walk to the beach. The benefit of secure parking was a bonus, and the host let us leave our car a little longer as the next guest wasn't due to arrive until the evening. Correspondence with the host was good and despite having some issues with the property, the person we dealt with was helpful.

The overwhelmingly negative part of this stay was that there were multiple messages to do with additional charges that we were unaware of on booking which took away from the overall experience and enjoyment of the trip. The first message was a few days before our stay to advise of a 50 euro charge for a cot which I was unaware of. I felt this charge was excessive as in most places we've stayed the provision of a cot is free or for a small amount (e.g. 10 euro). I also didn't realise until after I had booked (a non refundable room), that there was a late check in fee. Fortunately we were just about able to avoid this, but the outward journey was stressful was we knew we needed to get to the property before 9pm or face a 50 euro late check in fee. I take responsibility for not reading the small print but a lock box with the key rather than personal handover of keys would have made the check in more straight forward for us. Finally, before vacating the property we were sent a message advising that we needed to take the rubbish out and remove any food from the property or again there would be a .... 50 euro fee! We are always clean and tidy guests and are happy to take the rubbish out but a gentle reminder we felt would have sufficed. We also had purchased some food which was unopened but we had to bin and it would have been nice to have been able to have left this for guests arriving after (like in many Airbnbs). The 3 messages advising of additional 50 euro charges felt opportunist and unfair and didn't leave a good impression. This was compounded by the fact that the property was in need of some upgrading. Some of the cupboards and furniture was worn (the leather sofa was peeling), there was no TV remote for the flat screen TV so we couldn't use this, the toaster didn't work and neither did the lamp or ceiling light fittings in the second bedroom. However, we reported the issue with lighting and this was fixed the very next day.

Området hvor lejligheden ligger var super flot, smukt og frodigt. Serviceminded personale ved indtjekning, til trods for at jeg ikke havde gæste registret på forhånd. Smart nøglefri hoveddør. Skøn beliggenhed lige ud til poolen. Der var meget rent ved ankomst. Masser af skabsplads.

Der mangler en ovn. Brødristeren virkede kun hvis man aktivt holder den nede. Interiøret er slidt, især sofa og bademøbler. Døren til det ene toilet har svært ved at lukke Grunnet fugtskade fra badet.
