LJ5 - Old Town Rooms with Exclusive shared Roof Terrace

Great location, extremely well kept (if small) rooms and facilities, perfect for short stay.

Shared kitchen was clean probably because no one else was using it like me, but no one emptied the garbage which was completely full over the three days I was there.

Everything. Best location, easy to find, secure, and very spacious and comfortable. Roof top terrace and shared kitchen were fabulous for breakfast and afternoon drink.

It's a beautiful one big bedroom apartment in a fully renovated old building. It's just a few steps away from the main plaza and one of the main attractions in Tallinn, the Tallitorn. The bed was great, excellent lumbar support, the curtains close properly, so it's pretty dark during the summer (very bright) nights and you can get a lot of sunlight during the day. It has a heated floor bathroom and a small refrigerator where you can store some things to eat and keep fresh. It had a small heater, that we didn't use as it was already warm enough, but it will probably be handy during the winter. It was easy to recover the keys and access the apartment. You have several supermarkets and restaurants at a short walking distance and the office for tourism is also really close, which is great, because tours leave from that office several times a day.

Our apartment was 4 narrow flights of stairs (32 steps in total) up, with no elevator nor good handrails, so no ideal for people with limited mobility or heavy luggage. The apartment doesn't have kitchen or kitchen appliances, for that you have to go 4 more flights of stairs up (narrow and windy), to the upstairs kitchen, and if you take anything to back to your room (which is forbidden according to their rules) afterwards you have to take it up once more to wash it. The kitchen is pretty small for all the guests the building can accommodate and there's no locked refrigerators, so if you leave anything, you have to trust the other guests will not take it. The floor wasn't treated, so it seemed dirty the whole time, despite us taking our shoes at the entrance and being careful not to bring any dirt from outside. The ceiling is not isolated at all, so you can hear everything your upstairs neighbors are doing (...everything), so if they decide to talk loudly at 1 am, tough luck for you. The shower curtain doesn't go all the way down, so be prepared to have water for some time (while it drys thanks to the heated floor) in the bathroom. If you consume the extra coffee pods they left with the machine, you have to leave 10 euros for the box. Same coffee half price in the supermarket just 3 minutes away. Though you have to do the check-in at 16 pm, you can do it early but you have to pay more, they ask you to inform them if you leave early so they can start preparing the apartment for the next guest early (the official time of departure is 12 pm), so they can charge the new guest in case he or she wants to come early.
