Blissful stay in nature

I stayed in a stunning garden villa for a weekend. It was absolutely blissful. The sounds of geckos, frogs, birds and watching squirrels play in the trees was just what I needed to ground in nature. The bed was comfortable & the outdoor bathtub and pool are beautiful. Thr staff are lovely and accommodating.

Unfortunately the aircon was a bit temperamental, I think the remote batteries needed replacement. I used the fan, which I prefer anyway. Food quality can be improved.

Please stay at Wana Bucu when you go to Ubud!

The property is beautiful with only 12 villas all with their own pool and outdoor shower and bathtub. It’s a forest oasis. Very spacious with all amenities. The staff are incredible and super helpful. It’s close to the main street and there are loads of cafes, restaurants, sites, temples and shops all within walking distance. Breakfast is served in your room daily. It was just an amazing stay!

Nothing really, but it is in the forest so expect frogs, geckos and birds. But this is the area and the island and not necessarily the place.

First and foremost, the staff made this experience one to remember forever. We chose Wana Bucu as the first destination for our honeymoon and I must say that it couldn’t have been any better. 5+ star accommodation and customer service and courtesy. The villa was magnificent! We will definitely be back!

Beautiful villa and very kind staff! We enjoyed the private pool. All the main attractions are walkable (+/- 20min) or easily reachable with a Gojek driver/your own scooter.

Nothing major to dislike, just some important information to share with anyone traveling with a baby: Be aware that the baby crib costs extra. Also to note is that in the one bedroom villa the bathroom sinks are inside the room and the toilet is only separated by a thin milk glass door. Traveling with a baby that sleeps earlier than the parents, this can potentially be an issue. We made it work for us.

Loved it and miss it already

We villa was amazing and we loved the room. I have a major fear of gecko’s but managed okay with only a few way up in the roof. The staff were nothing but lovely and kind. Breakfast was delicious and offered plenty in each combination and always delivered with a smile. Staff very happy to accommodate for my allergies. Thank you

Our only complaint was the steep drive way up and down and stairs. In the heat (which we were not used too) was brutal. The outside pool lounges could be updated

Recommend staying here

The staff here were so lovely, and prompt to reply to any WhatsApp messages and bring things to our room when asked. They were very welcoming and willing to help set up any activities via partners. We didn’t need this but others might find this useful. They also brought our luggage to and from the room for us - thank you! We had stayed in some more modern designed villas prior to this, I liked the style of this one. My boyfriend was also getting loads of mosquito bites so the net around the bed was a bonus for him. The location is great, short distance from the monkey forest and the art market, loads of restaurants and bars nearby. You can go for a nice stroll. We woke up late most days and never went to breakfast in previous villas, so it was nice that we could order breakfast here to start the day.

The batteries seemed to be dying in the remote and safe. Sometimes it was difficult to use the tv but not worth requesting new batteries at the time as we weren’t really watching tv much. More as background noise. On the last day the AC was also a bit dodgy. Maybe it was an issue with the remote batteries as well, it just didn’t seem to cool down the room at all.l or would turn off when we tried adjusting the settings. The sinks and shower took a long time to drain. I was meant to flag this but forgot, and the next day when we came back the sink was draining fine after the room had been cleaned. Maybe the staff noticed this and fixed it themselves. The shower still did take some time to drain, but as there’s a raised platform it didn’t really bother us.

We loved absolutely everything about Wana Bucu and can’t wait to go back next year. Beautiful villas, amazing staff and breakfasts to die for! The service from all the staff was exceptional, they made us feel at home right from the start, always very helpful with a smile on their face. We already miss being there!

A peaceful and beautiful stay with wonderful staff, but I would not recommend using the laundry service.

The location was very quiet and relaxing, the villa was super clean, and the staff were all incredibly kind and welcoming.

Unfortunately, I used the laundry service and more than half of my clothes were damaged, which was very disappointing.

Beautiful villas, pool not clean and ours was not in the sun.

The villas are perfectly beautiful and romantic. Very clean with all amenities needed. Walk out onto the street and there are lots of restaurants and bars, on the quieter streets of Ubud.

Our villa with a private pool was beautiful. However disappointed with the following: - The pool needed to be cleaned, for all the water was clear, algae was starting to build up around the walls of the pool. Tiles were slippy to walk on in the pool. The garden area well kept but not the pool! - the location of our villa was so disappointing. The sun only touches the corner of the garden (in the plant area). So the garden is pointless for sunbathing as you do not get any. Had we know this we would not have booked, we booked a private garden villa as we wanted to sunbath.

I would stay here again, staff were so friendly & accommodating. Great facilities, great location & just overall clean. The only thing I would say is that I think the breakfast food quality could be better & at the entrance, they have such a little pond for the fish, especially the larger one. Exceptional Villa with outdoor private pool, service and overall stay

We stayed in Wana Bucu Villas for 3 days during our recent trip to Bali, after 5 days of living in another accommodation in Legian. Without doubt, this is one of the very best accommodations with an outdoor private swimming pool & an accompanying garden in a natural habitat that you will find in Ubud; since I did a lot of research on this very thing. - Since our arrival, the service was impeccable. My wife & I were overjoyed with our overall stay, which is better than many 5* and 6* hotels we have stayed in multiple locations globally. Ayu at the Main Desk was attentive, understood and spoke English well, and was prompt on our requests as well throughout the stay. - The villa was excellent. We loved the outdoor swimming pool. - We had ordered a floating breakfast for 1 day, and bathtub decor with flowers for 1 day. Both were very well catered for and hand-designed. It took patience and time to do so. - We had also ordered for 'Traditional Balinese Spa' treatment for 2 pax for 2 days, and the resort arranged for it as well. We loved the spa and the therapists were excellent. - Finally, room service, cleaning every day and other things were top notch. What you could expect in a 5* property. - On the day of our departure, the resort arranged for a cab for airport drop as well. All looked after nicely. We shall definitely we back in Bali and look fwd spending a few days in Wana Bucu hopefully in the future. Food & Drinks: - We had ordered in-room dining for Spaghetti Aglio e Olio etc. and the food was very tasty. The traditional Balinese wine which we had ordered was brilliant as well. - We also received a bowl of complimentary tropical fruits out of which a few were a queer looking fruit called the 'Snake Fruit'. We researched it on the Net, and tasted it... it was nice. Rooms: - Bedsheets were top quality cotton. - My wife specifically loved the design of the Mosquito Net.

Incredible private setting, close to Main Street, wonderful staff

The setting is incredible. We had a private pool and seperate hot tub/outdoor bath. We also had a private outdoor shower. The staff cannot be faulted - they are punctual, polite and always happy to assist. You communicate with them through WhatsApp and it’s very easy. Our room was spotlessly clean. Aircon works great. Wifi was excellent.

Might just have been unlucky but we had a few issues with the water supply! The day we arrived we were told the water pump had an issue and was expected to be fixed within an hour, about 6 hours later still not fixed (so there was no running water ie. No toilet or shower). We started looking for alternative accommodation, but suddenly it was fixed. Then the next day, the water from the tap/shower/toilet started coming out black and dirty intermittently which continued until the end of our stay. We just let the water run until it was clear and then we would use the shower. It was a bit of an annoying issue to deal with on holiday, but I don’t think it is really the villa’s fault.
