The Red Lion Inn Alnmouth

Inn, staff and food offering all good. We had the wood fired pizza in the cosy pub area. When booking a stay make sure to book a table as it is popular.

Stunning property, very well maintained, very friendly staff, in a quaint historic village with beautiful ocean views. The attached bar and restaurant was convenient.

The bathroom was not cleaned properly with visible missed spots. It was very difficult to get a taxi and bus to this location because of remote it is. Taxis need to be ordered the night before. The breakfast portion was too large a portion for one person, but it was very good. The only dinner option is pizza.

Centrally situated to tour the area. Very good value breakfast.

Booked as this was a pub, the parking in the village is difficult. I went around at least 3 times before finding a place on the streets, obviously not the Red Lion’s issue. Pub does not provide any food other than pizzas, which are very good and good value. The pub stopped serving drinks in the bar before 8.30 pm on Sunday, so don’t expect to go out and come back for a drink even if you are a resident.

It was central to village, close to Alnwick.

Just out of season, strange opening hours, don’t do this, didn’t do that now. Mid week stay a bit haphazard in the evenings, general air of ‘fend for yourself’. Overall, did not feel as advertised.
